Giovanni Battista Gabrielli c.1770

One of the best Florentine makers, Gabrielli made beautiful instruments on primarily a Stainer model with high but beautiful arching. He had a large influence on all of the Florentine makers that came after him and is thought to have taught the Carcassi brothers.

This viola, with a back length of 40.5cm, has a focused and generous sound especially suited for the concert hall.
